Rebranding – Integrating all segments under the Compass Brazil Brand

A new process of repositioning the brand, merging our brands of Tours & Travel, Special Interests, Incentives, Events & Congress under the single name of Compass Brazil.


Compass gets a new CEO

Cristina Grahn takes the lead company in Rio de Janeiro, bringing dynamism and new business opportunities.


BEC Eventos

Creation of brand “BEC Eventos” to provide extensive hospitality services to support participants of Rio’s Events and Congresses.



Opening of Scandinavian Plus in Natal and Porto de Galinhas. Under the leadership of Cristina Grahn, this office was responsible for ground service operations for charter flights from Europe. SCANplus chatered to important tourism brands including TUI Nordic, Thomas Cook, Kuoni, Apollo, Club de Vacaciones and Iberojet.


Brazil Ecotravel

Cristina Grahn and Roberto Mourao create the brand Brazil Ecotravel, focused on Specialized Tourism segment, especially ecotourism. The focus is to minimize the negative environmental and socio-cultural impacts as well as to promote economic benefits to the local community and enhance the destinations.


Compass Tourism

Operating in markets other than Scandinavian, the operator gets the name Compass Brazil. The compass symbolizes our ability to receive and guide the tourists from around the world.



Roberto Mourao, environmentalist and ecotourism and sustainable tourism expert that received the Green Diploma in Rio-92, joins the company. With his support the operator joins early adaptors of the global trend responsible and sustainable tourism, implementing good operational practices and becoming a reference in ecotourism in Brazil.


Sasplus DMC

After a process of rebranding, Sasplus was founded as an international inbound operator, specializing in the Scandinavian market, in the Group operation, Series and incentives.


Cristina Grahn

At 21, Cristina begins her career in tourism as receptionist at Diana. Shortly after, she became an operations agent and grew with the company until the early 1990s.


Diana Turismo

Entrepreneur Erik Grahn purchase the licensed Diana Tourism agency. This marks the beginning of our international inbound operator that exists today.


Erik Grahn and arrival in Brazil

Erik Grahn, a Swedish economist, founder of Compass Brazil, discovers the beauties of Rio de Janeiro and Brazil working as a tour guide. Soon after as a travel agent he realizes the country's potential as a tourist destination.
